Such a Life

Day one of week two... complete. And I have a feeling week two will be much better than week one. I have had an attitude adjustment (involving lots of prayer) and am beginning to feel much more comfortable with my new position. Since it's all phone and computer work I'm still getting the hang of things, but I feel much more confident in my abilities. Hopefully I will continue to grow in learn in the remainder of my training time so when I'm released out on my own I'll be successful.

Funny story of the day: I was stranded at the Boonsboro Wachovia! I was making a deposit after hours at the ATM. I generally grab the cash or check I'll be depositing, a pen to write on the envelope, my debit card, and my keys. I don't want to carry my whole purse to the ATM and back. Well, this time I was preoccupied and wasn't thinking. So I set my keys in my cup holder while I counted out my cash to be deposited and fished a pen out of my purse. You guessed it, I locked myself out of my car! Now, if you know the area, you know that our house is not that far from the bank. But still, longer than I'd care to walk. I'd have to walk all the way to our house to get my extra set of car keys by using our hide-a-key to get into the house. Then I'd have to walk all the way back to the bank to get my car. Not preferable. Plus I was wearing my new skirt from The Gap. Not walking appropriate. Another man was using the ATM so I politely asked him if I could borrow his cell phone. I explained why and he was very generous. He even offered to drive me to my house. Some people are just so nice! So I called my knight in shining armor to come rescue me! Now, Matthew is working evening shift tonight! So I asked if he could take a long dinner break and go get my spare keys and come rescue me. He did. I was no longer marooned. End of story. All in all, a successful trip to the bank! I used to have a magnetic hide-a-key for my car, but I was afraid it would fall off or something and I'd lose my spare key. Now it's not looking like such a bad idea! It is made for cars so I'm sure the magnet is strong. How embarrassing! At least someone was there to loan me their phone.

Time to work on my "homework" from training. I also got my call scripts/ check lists today so I'm going to look those over and maybe do some practice calls... even though I'm home alone. I can still practice. This isn't going to to be so bad after all.
