I have had an interesting day... And it's just slightly past four. These days I look at the clock and realize I'll still be at work this time next week! Well, maybe not next week which is our teacher work week. But after that... It's 8:30 to 5:30 every day. Bye free time. With going to the gym, making dinner, and reading in the evenings, I just don't know how this new schedule is going to work out! Last year was nice. A 2.5 hour break in the afternoon. I'll miss it.
So this morning I woke up bright and early to babysit the Paris kids. Seriously adorable kids! It was a fun time involving Jedi, princess dresses, dancing to music, and chasing around the neighborhood cats. I'm ready to be around kids full time again. Excellent mommy training.
I got a butt load of groceries on my way home and noticed a copper behind me. He followed me for quite some way right on my tail, which I didn't appreciate. As I pulled on to our street the lights went on. Great. I definitely wasn't speeding, I used my turn signals, all my lights and stickers were updated and accurate. I was peeved. Turns out that in Virginia you have to have some kind of inspection done on your car every year? And there's this sticker on your front windshield to show it? Never heard of it. He didn't give me a ticket since I've only been here a year and I'm pretty sure I looked like I thought he was making it all up. So tomorrow Matt and I are going to try to find some place to do this inspection and give us these stickers on both our cars. I'm glad I found out now I suppose, before schol starts and I wouldn't have time. But seriously, how did he notice that I didn't have this sticker? Could he really see that as I passed by? He must have been pretty bored today. At least I didn't get a ticket.
Well, as I said, it's almost time for work to start. I'm still looking for a tuition paying job or scholarship opportunities. Since we have zero debt of any kind, it won't be that big of a deal if we have to take out a loan for Matt's grad school, but we'd like to have it covered. Obviously. We might be able to pay as we go depending on how many classes he takes at a time, but it would be a whole lot nicer if we could save that money. Sigh. Grown up life is difficult sometimes. And I'm sure it'll just get that much more difficult in the years to come! Children... Private school... Birthday parties... Private lessons... Cars... College... Weddings... Yes, I'm thinking big picture. Sigh. Life.
Just in case you weren't quite aware, I really love my husband. Sometimes I can't even really believe we're married and it's not all just an elaborate dream. I am just so blessed!
