I wish we could have been home for Mother's Day. It's big around my house. My mom has Mother's Day pictures in a book from every year of our family. Every year! It's so cool to watch us grow up in pictures. And I am the only one who has had to send a token picture home because I could not be there. I've had to do it three different times. Hopefully next year we'll be moving home. Probably not before Mother's Day though. Maybe we can make a weekend trip of it. We'll see. Anyways, so we were unable to be with our Mothers on their day. My family always gets together after church and has a nice meal and sometimes games. The kids usually settle down to watch a movie. I miss home. I'm so thankful Matthew still wants to live in Michigan.

His parents are finalizing on the sale of their house today! Hopefully everything goes through. It is such a blessing that the house sold so fast. I don't think anyone expected it to go quite so quickly. The housing market in Michigan in horrible right now. So my MIL will be moving to Cali next week and the BIL will be staying in Michigan for part of the summer to get all his goodbyes in. It'll be strange not being able to go back to that house one last time. Oh well. I'm sure the house in Cali will be much nicer to visit!

I fixed my nifty hand fan! It's so beautiful but it had a tear in it. So I finally fixed it! Just in time for the hot summer ahead of me! I plan on taking it with me everywhere. That way I can swish it out and have a nice cool breeze while also looking quite stylish. I think the hand fan should come back. The big hooped skirts won't, so the hand fan is a must! As well as the parasol!

I have decided that I really, really enjoy my job. Teaching in Alisa's class has increased my confidence in teaching on my own next year. We have a handful of teachers leaving the school next year so my chances of getting my own classroom are increasing. I enjoy the children at the school of all ages, the parents are so sweet and understanding, and I love my co-workers. It has been a pretty great experience. I am so blessed.

Matthew and I went for a 3.5 mile walk yesterday. We went to Peaks View and just walked and walked until we were ready for some ice cream. It was such a beautiful day! I think we'll start going there for walks more often. We're not super active or sporty, but we do like good walks. We're planning on getting memberships at the YMCA soon also so we'll get in shape once more. We're both starting to feel our metabolism slow down. I wish the Y had tennis courts though. We'll just have to go to Peaks View for that too.

I am so terribly excited to go home in June! I have already been planning my various outfits for various days. Matt and I are planning what to do on our anniversary. We're trying to schedule everyone in nice and neatly so we'll have time to see everyone. It's a big difficult since our families want a lot of time with us but we have all the wedding hoopla to work around. That's another thing, I'm ridiculously excited for Jon and Andrea's wedding. It will be a good time.

Ok. I need to get ready to go nanny. It's been raining so the ground will be wet and the dog will get muddy paws when it goes outside... hopefully she won't jump on me like last week. I hate having muddy clothes. Oh well, just preparing me someday for children and pups of my own. Emily is so nice and easy. Again, I've been so blessed.

Happy Monday.
