I have a cold slash horrible allergies slash a migraine that won't quit slash a long day in general. And for some reason I'm not in bed yet? Oh well, at least I can sleep in tomorrow.
I woke up bright and early from a restless night on the couch. I was having a coughing fit at bedtime so instead of putting Matthew through that for the entirety I was kind and opted for the couch. I did early morning care this morning for another teacher who had graduation stuff to do today. (P.S. congrats to all my beautiful and handsome friends graduating from college tomorrow! Woot!) So I was up bright and early. The upside to the work morning, I got some presents for teacher appreciation week. I love my kids, both Pre-K and now in my fours class. They are so wonderful and I am so glad to have met them all. Seriously, teaching is such a rewarding job. The downsides to the morning, I got pee all over my pants. I was waiting for this to happen as I like to snuggle with the younger kids who are starting to potty train. I was waiting to tickle one of them at the wrong moment and end up with wet bottoms. But this is not what happened. One of my fours was in the bathroom longer than usual. We were all waiting to start snack so I went to check. After waiting patiently in the bathroom line it just couldn't be held any longer. There they (I don't want to use he or she for their dignity, even though they'll never read this) sat on the toilet, with wet pants, embarrassed and unsure of what to do next. This student has been potty trained for awhile and has never had an accident at school. I assured them it was alright and I was so proud of them for waiting so patiently when they had to go potty. We cleaned them up and changed their clothes. Unfortunately, my pants got a bit soiled in the process. Excellent. I just ignored it and changed the minute I got home (as in stripping as soon as the door was closed and jumping out of my pants so I didn't touch them any more!). I also stayed for lunch for the extended care group and got them settled for their naps. One of the kids usually conks right out after running around like a crazy person all day long. This afternoon this child was being fussy and all the other children were getting rather annoyed. Eventually I rocked the child to sleep, all the while getting slobber all over my shirt and chest and a few wiped noses on my shirt as well. Lovely once more. Oh well, I still loved the snuggles. If my kids aren't snugglers I don't know what I'll do! Again, I stripped that off immediately upon arrival at home.
I was meeting a friend shortly after I was finished at work so I quickly found another outfit to wear. That was an excellent time. My friend Savannah has been in North Carolina this past semester as she finished in December. I have missed her greatly and will miss her far more the next two years as she's going overseas (well, somewhere, we're not sure where yet) with Journeyman. I am so proud of her but wish she would just stay here so I could see her more often. But by the time she comes home I'll hopefully have a baby to show off to her! But Auntie Savannah says I'm not allowed to have any babies until she's home to see me all preggers. Savannah is graduating tomorrow and I'm planning on going to her lunch afterwards... but we'll see.
Next topic. Terribly horrible no good very bad cold! At least I think that's what it is. I've been downing all kinds of medicines for anything I might have. I plan on sleeping the weekend away after Savannah's graduation hoopla. I have to do some laundry (gotta wash the new clothes my mommy bought me this week! I don't like to wear new clothes without washing them first. You never know who's tried them on before! It didn't used to bother me until a friend of mine got poison ivy just by trying on a pair of pants at a store! No thank you) and tomorrow is my usual laundry day. Since we share the laundry machines with our upstairs neighbors I like to just use it one day a week. They said we can use it whenever we need it, but we really don't need to do laundry even once a week. But I'll definitely take advantage of it! I like having all my clothes nice and clean and accessible. I don't know how I ever went two months without doing laundry! Yes, I really have that many clothes! And more to spare! Anyways, so I'll do laundry and then settle on the couch to watch movies and sleep all day long. Lazy I know. But I really don't want this sickness to drag out another two weeks like all my previous colds. I rented a couple movies to watch and haven't watched Ever After after buying it a couple days ago. So I should be set for the weekend. I'll probably end up skipping church again on Sunday. I feel bad because I've missed the past couple of Sundays. Oh well. I don't know who I'd get to substitute for me since I'm substituting for Alisa. So I want to get all better.
Oh yes, and Alisa finally had baby Hanna! She had such a long labor. I do not envy her that. I do however, envy her adorable little baby. My time will come. Baby and Mama are both happy and healthy. Praise.
The end to a post that didn't need writing. I should be in bed. I should've been in bed three hours ago! But one thing just led to another and here I am at almost midnight.
Love.
