Yesterday was a "snow" day, due to freezing rain, and this morning we had a delay. What an enjoyable week and a nice little break from schedule. We don't have a scheduled break from school until Easter break. That's a long time for teachers. There should be a mid winter break in February like there is in the fall. Oh well, we have more breaks than other jobs. I did miss the kids though. It'll be hard not seeing the returning kids next year if I don't go back to the school. We'll see what happens jobwise in the next couple of months.
It's funny how I've known certain people my whole life and we were never particularly close, but now that we're all married it's like we're part of an elite club that singles don't quite understand yet. I am now in regular correspondence with several other girls from my home school that I rarely talked to, but we happen to be married and our other friends are not. It's nice to have some friends who understand the ups and downs of marriage. But of course, that doesn't mean my other friends are any less important to me. I have always been blessed with the most amazing friends. I have been friends with the same four girls since kindergarten and then added a few other lifelong friends along the way. College of course builds strong friendships. And now, I have a few new/old friendships with other newlyweds. And my friends are the most important things to me.
I miss playing tennis. I miss cheerleading too. Basically, I miss being a part of some kind of team that keeps me in shape. I might try to convince Matt to play some tennis with me this spring. He claims he's not good at it, but tennis isn't that difficult of a sport. I was thinking of trying to find some kind of specified fitness club to join. Although, I'm not sure any exist like I'm thinking. I wouldn't need competition, just fun. We'll see. Coaching is another option. If only I could find a squad with later practice hours.
British literature is amazing. So much better than American. maybe that's why I love Britain so much. Nothing like walking the roads where your best literary friends walked 100s of years ago. It adds to the romance. Even books like my current, Oliver Twist, have a certain romantical aspect to them. In their own way. I want a copy of Peter Pan. Maybe that'll be my next purchase. We were supposed to visit with Peter Pan this summer, but unfortunately it rained the day we went to Hyde Park. Of course, so we had to turn back towards our hotel. Next trip. For definite. There's so much in Britain to explore.
I am so incredibly excited for Jon and Andrea's wedding! I am so glad we'll have the same anniversary weekend. It will make for some fun vacations and family get togethers in future, I'm sure. Their wedding will be so beautiful. It's been a long time coming.
Sometimes nannying is more trouble than it's worth. I definitely won't miss it next year. Maybe I'll do a different kid, but I definitely won't miss this. Ugh.
