The weekend is over. The in-laws gone. And my husband has suddenly become homesick. He hasn't been able to spend much good quality time with his sister and brother over that past few years since we've been scattered in Virginia, Georgia, Texas, and Michigan. After having a few days of good hang out time, he really misses them. He has decided we are going to move back to Michigan this summer when our lease is up. Pause. Only this is a very unpractical choice. So we'll renew our lease, I'll get a better job for the next year, we'll save my income and live off his, and then we'll move summer 2010 maybe and buy a house in Michigan. Of course, that wouldn't put us closer to Jamie and Mark might move away after college anyways. But it's a nice thought for now.
While I love my in-laws, I am glad it's a new week. I get one week to relax and be lazy before work starts again. And it's exhauting being a hostess. Sure his mom did the cooking and a lot of the clean up, but it's still stressful. It's hard to explain. My mom says it's normal though. I do miss home though. I'm missing the childhoods of my niece and nephews.
I have to say, my new cardigans and jeans have been everything I hoped for! I definitely have a new favorite pair of jeans. I'll have to try to not over wear them. But the wash is just perfect.
I think C.S. Lewis would have been an amazing story teller. I used to always love it when my grandpa would come over because I knew I'd spend hours on his lap for stories. He was always a good story teller. I attribute my love for reading to him. He taught me to love adventure and fiction and imagination. Lewis would have had some very creative worlds for stories. I'm currently working through Perelandra before I start in on my new Christmas books. I love the mind of Lewis. All the imagery and imagination in his stories. I don't think I'd want to live in Perelandra, but it is one of my favorites of his.
The kitten is snuggles up behind my head on my second pillow snoring away. She tends to snore when she's really tired. I find it endearing. And Gavin Degraw is playing in the background. And I'm getting ready to finish Perelandra. A perfect evening.
