rubbish

In case you're wondering, because I always do when I see pictures like mine on peoples blogs or profiles, that picture of holding hands is really Matt and I at our wedding. It is one of my favorites. So unique and classic. It shows my beautiful shawl and was completely candid. I don't even know when our photographer took it. I love it. And we are still happily holding hands to this day. I am an obsessive hand holder.

What a day it was. First was work at the preschool as usual. We had a concert for the kids by a group of violinists from a local elementary school. It made me want to learn the violin again. I've wanted to for years. I played for awhile when I was younger but quit- I did a bit of everything from horse back riding to soccer when I was little. I didn't stick with anything though because I wanted to try everything. But I wish I had stuck with the violin. Maybe someday I'll teach myself again. I remember a lot of the basics.

We'll have a busy week at work, but then we have a 2 week Christmas break. That's one thing I'll miss about working in a school next year- if I change jobs- nice long holiday breaks. Anyways, we have rehearsal for our Christmas concert tomorrow, then a lot of fun Christmas crafts, our concert on Thursday, and our Christmas party on Friday. Basically our schedule is a mess and the kids are going to go crazy since they know Christmas is coming. It will make the week go fast though.

After nannying I came home and was met with a smelly kitten! I don't know why she was so stinky but her fur was not pleasant. So I have her a bath, which she did not like one bit! But now she smells like tangerines and is contently sitting in my lap in a kitchen table chair. Haha. So I'm not super comfortable but I sat here and I don't want to disturb her. She is spoiled! And clean.

I then washed the dishes which took awhile. But I love seeing a nice clean and clear sink. It's like having the fruits of my labor right there in front of me. I need to go grocery shopping tomorrow. I don't like spending money on food. Yuck. It seems like such a waste since we just eat it. But we have to eat. Oh well. At least I'm slowly learning how to make things. We still often use the classic fallbacks of ham sandwiches, pb&j, macaroni and cheese, and eggs. Quick and easy meals. But as long as Matt doesn't mind then I don't.

I also finally cleaned out my car! It hasn't been completely emptied since my college graduation. Of course with moving back and forth and the wedding it had quite a lot of compiled junk. There was a lot of trash, old mailing boxes from packages I got, a lot of wedding paraphernalia, a Harry potter book on tape from the car ride down here with Matt after the wedding, a picnic blanket from home, my baby blanket I brought to put in storage, a whole pack of bottled water from when my dad brought down traile number 1 full of my junk in may, my pink flip flops I've been looking for, and the headband I wore on the weekend we got engaged! I gad never taken it back out of the car and it's one of my favorites. It was quite the clean out. And now my car looks much better. I'm sure Peter will appreciate the extra space when I take him to basketball tomorrow afternoon! Haha.

Now here I sit, cat in lap, watching Harry potter. Nothing like a good Harry potter fix when I have a long evening ahead of me. I put it in before I started the dishes and have done those while watching, made and ate dinner, and once I move my kitten I'll move into the living room and do pilates while watching it. By then I'll be ready to hop in bed to read until sleepy time!

Oh, and happy birthday to my brother-in-law Josh! He's 30! He wa born in the 70s! That's so weird to me! I put him more in my sisters' generation than Jamie's and ours. But he's a fun bro. I'm glad we get to see him over Christmas. We haven't seen him since the weekend we got engaged!

Happy Monday.
