a productive day

We almost got a kitty today! She is an adorable all black and sleek kitten. We wanted to bring her home but the humane society needs proof that our landlord accepts pets. And unfortunately our landlord is out of town at the moment. So hopefully they'll be back tomorrow and we can go back on Monday to get our previous kit. The woman there said not many people looked St her since she was black. Hopefully no one will like her before we can get back! She really liked me and has a precious purr. I'll be very sad if she's gone. All the other kittens weren't what we were looking for. And I don't want to wait! Her bowl is sitting in our kitchen just waiting for her!

I set up our Christmas tree today! It is perfect! Our ornaments are simple red, ivory, and gold balls. There are two strings of bright, bubble lights. I love those lights so much more than the normal Christmas lights. They are the same ones we used at our reception except smaller. Our topper is a golf sparkly star that is a little too big for our tree... But I got it to stay standing up! We have a gold skirt around the bottom that is a little bigger than needed, but I just bunched it in the back. It will make a nice burrow for our kitty!

I made chicken carbonara pasta for dinner. It was delicious. Ut had peas, mushrooms for Matt, red peppers to add flavor, bacon bits, and of course, chicken and penne pasta! Yum! I feel I had a very productive day since I cleaned, did laundry, put the tree together, worked out, went kitty shopping, finished my book, and made a delicious dinner for my husband. I am excited to be a stay at home wife and mom. I was made for running a household.

My mom bought me some beautiful new gray wrist gloves! I love them. They are pretty basic, but they are just what I wanted this winter. A character in a movie I was watching wore some just like them and I am easily influenced by the power of suggestion! So now I have some beautiful gloves to wear to the playground with the kids at school.

I have been playing football with Peter the past few evenings. He doesn't have very good aim, which is a shame since he has a good spiral. I used to play football with my dad when I was younger so I'd like to think I have a pretty good spiral. During tennis season we used to practice throwing a football because it's the same motion as a tennis serve. Good practice. It's been working a lot of muscles I don't normally use. I like feeling a little sore the next day. Every little bit of exercise counts! I'm trying to lose the few pounds I've gained the past year as well as lose a little to help prevent the inevitable holiday weight gain! If I lose extra, then I won't have to work so hard after Christmas.
I just love Christmas! I am so excited for it. I am excited for matt's family to be here. I am excited for good food. I am excited for presents and shopping for presents. I am excited for Christmas cards. I am excited for a dear friends wedding that I doubt I'll be able to make it to. Yes, Christmas is a wonderful time of year.

I'm off to watch a movie, drink some vanilla tea, and put together our new book shelf! I hope you all have had productive days as well. Happy weekend!
