Another great day.
It was the hottest day of summer thusfar. You know in the summer when you get into your car and it's really stuffy and unbearably hot and you just wish you could jump in the ocean to cool down? And then you know those days when you get in your car and all the interior is so hot that if you touch it your hands start to melt on contact? Kinda like hot lava?
Today was definitely the latter. I just didn't quite know what to do with myself. I got in my car after work and could barely touch the steering wheel. Torture, that's what it is!
But besides that, a lovely day. Not too busy at J.Crew... but just busy enough to keep me occupied and to make the time go by faster than it has the past few days. Hopefully I got my schedule worked out for the fall today too. We'll see. If they need me to work more than I can, I'll probably just have to quit. I want my last year to be great. And if that means not working and putting more attention into my internship, then so be it. I'm not that worried about it. I'm sure my parents will understand.
BIG NEWS! We reserved our reception location today. I was going to say reception hall, but that would be misleading. We're having an outdoor tented reception on the driving range of Thousand Oaks Golf Club! I know I know, I always said I wouldn't have a country club reception, but it really is the best location for a tent. And it's a great price with pretty much everything included. I'm pretty excited about it. The only other big things I need to worry about booking are the pastor and the photographer. We haven't decided who we want to marry us yet. That one will be tough... especially since Matt and I don't really have much of a preference. And the photographer... I'm working on that. At least I have both of my locations all ready. The next big location we have to worry about is where we're going to be moving to once we get back from our honeymoon! Yay!
I watched Hannibal Rising today with Matt and Dave. It was boring. Long, pointless, and a lot of nothingness. The guy in it wasn't even in the least bit attractive. It was too drawn out. The boys all say it's a lot better if you've seen all the other Hannibal movies, you can appreciate it because it explains why he is the way he is... but I don't really care. It's just a stupid story if you ask me.
Have I mentioned how excited I am for Harry Potter next week? It's almost here! I watched the trailers online. Pretty much amazing. And I even have next Wednesday off from work. So Matt and I will be able to drive out to Roanoke to see it opening day! So excited. I'm almost on the point of going out and buying myself a wand... almost! Not really.
Speaking of buying myself things, I made some excellent discoveries yesterday. I found a beautiful coral pashmina. Exactly what I've been looking for. I settled for a red one and then a white one also when I couldn't find a pretty pink one before... but this one is perfect! I had to buy it. It'll go wonderfully with the new black puffer vest I'm planning on purchasing as soon as winter wear is out! MM mm. I also found a pair of Ralph Lauren sunglasses! I've been searching for new sunglasses for pretty much the past year. I hadn't found any that fit as well as my old ones or that were a nice name that I liked. Well, these are the best sunglasses I've ever had! Including the pair that got broken in DC in 8th grade. No, I'll never get tired of telling that story. So these are pretty much the most amazing sunglasses ever. Great find. I also splurged and bought Lost season 2. To occupy myself when I'm bored and alone in my room. The other day I thought I would die of boredom. So I had to buy something new to excite me. SO now the answers will finally be revealed! Only, really the only things I care about is how people die. It's been bothering me since the start of season 3 and suddenly half the cast was dead. Ah well. I shall see.
It's wonderful being engaged. I love it.
