Happy Independence Day!
And what a day it was.
First I woke up real early and went to work. It was super slow so I got to leave at 12. Half day! Yes! Half day plus time and a half. During the 4 hours I was there though, I had 2 half hour "workshops". Usually throughout the seasons we have real workshops. It was so slow today that they made "fun" workshops for us to do so we didn't have to sit there and do nothing. So it was a pretty good day at work.
After leaving, I met Matt, Dave, and Ben for lunch at a Super China Buffet variation. Delicious. I miss Golden Wok though. Definitely on my list of places to visit on my vacation home. I have a time crunch though. Anyways, Matt and I headed back to his apartment after lunch. I was really exhausted since I didn't get much sleep last night. I took a super long nap.
But the time I woke up and was moving around, Dave was on his way over to Matt's. So I came back to the room.
I was pretty bored, but I got my printer reinstalled on my computer and also figured out how to download my DVD player again. It's such a pain when computers bust. And we rely on them so much. It's a sad state of life we live in today. For the most part, convienant, but in large part also... just plain rotten. Ah life.
Tomorrow I think my mom is going to book Thousand Oaks Golf Club for our reception. She's calling the events coordinator at least. She thinks it's a great idea for the reception to be there and it's definitely in our budget. So that's most likely where we're going to end up. I always swore I would never have a country club reception, but there I go. It's a beautiful location though. And the tent set up and eveyrthing is such a great deal. So I couldn't resist. And it's the only place so far that I've called that has had my date available. So it's all working itself out.
I just have to complain a little. My roommate for the summer is pretty good for the most part. Really there's only one complaint I have for her. And for everyone in the world who's like this, for that matter. Why do people think other people want to hear them on the phones with their significant others? Sometimes it's ok (for couples I mean, with her, it's never ok). All the kissing noises, and the constant remarks of I love you. I mean, if you heard it you would understand. it's pretty much the whole conversation. I have to listen to her say it to him for about an hour at a time. And she talks so stinkin loud. We have a living room right outside our door. She should go there to talk. I really am not interested in her boyfriend. At first I thought maybe they had just started dating and it was hard for them to be apart, but no. Turns out they've actually been engaged for about 2 1/2 years! Yeah! On the opposite end of the spectrum! I just don't get it.
I love my fiance, everyone knows that. But I don't flaunt our affection. PDA is not in style. As a matter of fact, it never was. Sorry to disappoint.
I have rediscovered FRIENDS. I took a break for awhile (like a month haha) and now, I have begun to watch them again. And they're still as funny as ever! Oh my FRIENDS, how I love them. They keep me company on nights like tonight when I seriously thought I might die of boredom.
Oh life. I love it.
