Happy 22nd birthday to Mrs. Iveson! (that's me!) I think I'm going to like 22.
So I woke up, after sleeping in accidentally! It was one of those times where I woke up, looked at the clock, rolled over, and it was magically an hour later! So worth it. I got up and took extra time beautifying. Birthdays require and extra dose of pretty. I might have figured out a mousse product to help my hair not be so flippy... Score. I had a great hair day today. Then I headed out to do some birthday shopping! And I still have birthday money on the way! I went to Ross (because I enjoy getting expensive things for 70% off) and browsed. I was interested in watches, sunglasses, purses, and shoes. But found nothing I had to have. So I wandered into the housewares. (angelic music) There it is. The perfect birthday present! I've been lusting after large canvas paintings. I have one nice one in our kitchen that's a good size. This new one is about to my elbows when it's sitting on the ground. It's square and has a large red flower on it with gold accents. Perfect. And it was about 200$ than any I've ever seen before! I love discount stores! After much deliberation, I bought it! That will be my present from my grandparents, there's is the only check I actually have. All the other cards are late though they were mailed with plenty of delivery time... The senders are not pleased with the tardiness. So I was happy. I then went to my friend, Kristin's house. She has re done her apartment and added some furniture. I love it. Very nice. We then proceeded to shop at the mall and a few other places. I love birthdays because I don't feel bad spending! I bought 5 camis at Forever21. I've been needing some new under shirts. These are all in nice colors and fit real well. A good purchase. I then bought five pairs of panties from Victoria's Secret... For 2$ each! I had a coupon for 10$ off total purchase and for 1 free pair of panties! Can't beat that. I also bought two dangly necklaces from kohl's. They are beautiful. I had my rings inspected and cleaned at Kay for my six month check up. And... We went ring shopping for Kristin! Woot! She found some beautiful rings. It's so much fun going ring shopping! I'm so glad we went. I tried on a couple rings in some of the department stores we went in (while we were looking for fun jewelry) and I'm not so sure I want an upgrade someday anymore. The larger diamonds looked way weird on my small fingers. My finger is a size 4.25. Large stones looked ridiculous. My ring fills up the space quite perfectly. I like it. So we shopped for close to three hours. Matt was wondering where I was since I wasn't home when he was off work. He worried about me a little since I had thought I would be home when he was. He's sweet.
Well, he of course bought me my favorite tea roses in my favorite color, a tangerine coral color. He also bought me five out of six Jane Austen books. The sixth wasn't available in the same style. We'll get it when we find it. I'm so excited to read or re read all of them! He also got me three pairs of shoes, which I had picked out earlier. One is this amazing pair of gladiator-ish sandals. They don't have the straps that go up over my ankles though, but they are perfect! We then went to All Fired Up for a date! My mug from girls night was finished and ready to be taken home. It turned out so good! I love it. I made a small case this time. I plan on keeping pens and stuff in it. It's a dusty pink with a purple swirly design on the sides. Matt made a mug with brown on the inside and green on the outside. He did a great job. He painted houses (interior and exterior) for about 5 summers in high school so he has a lot of painting experience. He painted very evenly! We then went to a delicious dinner at Logan's. We were going to go somewhere fancy, but Logan's just sounded so good! And it was. Perfect. We rented the movie "Horsemen" and had a nice evening at home. I actually liked the movie. We both figured it out pretty early on though. But it was pretty good. I'm not a huge Dennis Quaid fan though.
Yes, all in all it was an excellent birthday. I am very tired and it isn't even 11. Tomorrow I'm going to try to reorganize my living room to accomodate the new painting! So excited for that.
Thanks everyone who wished me a happy birthday! It was one of the best!
