I admit, I've been feeling pretty discontent in certain areas lately. I need to work on that. God has blessed me with a great life. And He continues to provide for me in new and unexpected ways. For example, right now while I'm not working during the summer, money is a little more tight than when I'm working (obviously). Replacing Matt's playstation and computer in a two week period and taking a joy trip to North Carolina spur of the moment probably weren't the most wise choices all things considered. But our electric bill came and we owed nothing! Our security deposit kicked in and we probably won't have to pay for the rest of the summer because we have that much in credit! What an unexpected blessing. In light of that, what have I to be discontent over? I need to count my blessings... One by one... And see what God has done. (haha)

On a different note, we have found 4 slugs in our home in the past 2 days. They were about 2 inches long, brown, with black speckles, and left nasty slime trails! They seem to be coming from the kitchen somewhere! I don't know where they're coming from though! It's quite aggravating. One slimed it's way all over my utensil holder and most of my serving ware. Naturally, everything was cleaned and all the cupboards were emptied, cleaned, and checked for possible holes or nest or anything! If I find one more we're definitely notifying the landlord! Gross!

I'm rearranging my house. Unfortunately, that also means that I might need some new furniture! We're planning on buying all new furniture in the next year or so anyways, but some things need to be taken care of right now! I'm mostly working on the second bedroom/office. Today I've been moving all our boxes for our electronics into closets to get them out of the way. It's like putting together a puzzle since both of our rather large closets are full of clothes! But I think everything has found a new home. I've also been rearranging our storage bins. They are all stacked un a closet as well. I don't know if I'm going to keep my crates from college or not. For now, I'll keep them but some kind of shelving unit, even a bookshelf would look so much nicer. I'm trying to make that room acceptable for when we have guests. Hopefully I'll find a nice full area rug to lay down, I'll consolidate all of matt's computer stuff and guitar stuff to one corner, my stereo and our third TV will be against one wall, and the air mattress will have the middle portion if need be. Or I'm debating buying a futon couch. It would have to be a comfortable one though. So far everything has been going very well. It's looking so much beter already.

As far as the rest of the house goes, I moved my hope chest (even with the horrible scratches on the top-work of my nephews) into the living room as a coffee table. It looks so much better than that flimsy nasty table I was using. It will do until we buy a new couch. I don't want to buy a new coffee table until we know if the color scheme will be black or brown. Or even white. All the linens that were in the chest are going in the bathroom closet for now. I'd like to get a linen dresser eventually for the second room. I'd also like to get an over toilet rack for towels and extras with a matching shelf rack for beside the sink. That should free up so space in the closet for toiletries and linens.

With the chest out of our bedroom I moved Matt's dresser over. It looks so bare against that wall now. Maybe time to get new bedroom furniture? I would like a dresser, a armoire, two night stands, and a stand alone mirror. The set I want is from Ikea. I don't like the matching bed so we'd get that later. Maybe for my birthday? It would look so much better! The space would be less cluttered but would fill the walls in nicely.

And then there's the kitchen. I oved my white drawer unit downstairs next to Matt's desk to put all his desk stuff in and paperwork etc. Pie microwave sat on top of those so now it's on the floor. A small shelving unit will take care of that. I'm thinking some sort of cart. The microwave can be on the middle shelf with my tea service on the top. I just love my tea! Cookbooks can go on the bottom. Yes, I like the sounds of that.

Yes, I have been busy. And I think our home will look much better when all is finished and put together. I just need to start estimating costs for all our new furniture and making priority lists! So exciting. I don't like spending money, but I do like decorating!

Well, I've taken a break from organizing. Time to finish up the second room before Matt comes home from work. I don't want him coming home to a mess.

Happy cleaning!
