Happy birth day Dallas Taylor Branon! He is now almost three hours old! Adorable. I wish I still lived in GR so I could meet him in person. And also, happy birthday to the brand new Daddy, Steven David Branon! One of my oldest friends. I can't believe he is married and the (step) father of two. Hopefully I'll catch up soon! But not too soon of course. I'm actually beginning to like our honeymoon period without children! Good thing I guess. I'll be good for at least one more year, maybe two. Then it's baby time!
Starting tomorrow I am the lead teacher of our classroom for the week! Hooray! I am excited, but will miss Carol. Seriously, we have clicked well as co-teachers. It could have been a miserable year. I didn't do well with female roommates, but this was a great arrangement for my first year of teaching. Anyways, this week is pretty by the book. We have chapel and music like normal. Friday is our free day like always. Tomorrow we'll do our weekly readers and finish our projects from today if there's time. Wednesday we're making kites! Fun! Thursday we have letter bags on the letter V so that should be fun. Basically, I'm excited and prepared! It makes me even more excited about having my own class full time next year! Hopefully there will be openings. I'm pretty sure there is at least one opening available... So just keep praying!
I watched Black Hawk Down for the first time in like 4 years today. Seeing as how my brother in law is currently somewhere in Iraq doing some army business or other, it was an interesting movie. Sad. I hate humanity and it's selfishness and pride. But of course, that just means there's plenty of room for redemption. Sigh. Life. That's another area where much prayer is needed. Josh and his men in Iraq, Jamie back home in Texas alone. Safety and sanity for all.
I am finishing up my bible study on prayer today. I put it off for the past couple of weeks because I've been working on a study of Esther with my small group. So I started up on my prayer study again, but realized there were only three more days left! So I am finishing that up tonight. It's been a great study written by Elmer Towns. Prayer has always been difficult for me. I can't stay focused for long. I bunny trail throughout my prayers. I start thinking of what I need to do or who I need to talk to. And then I remember I was praying. I try to say little prayers throughout the day when I have specific thoughts for prayer instead of saving up for a certain time. Hopefully that will help skip the bunny trails and keep me in constant communication with God. Nothing better than being close to the master!
Well, I'm nannying from 4:40 until around 6 today. So we're starting a little later but ending around normal still. It's a nice break for me. I'll be ready to quit nannying next year. Hopefully I can find a preschooler to nanny for the summer. I do much better with preschoolers. Preferably age 3-4. So much fun stuff to do at that age. The park, lots of fun crafts, amazement square, cooking and baking. So much fun!
The kitten loves the outdoors! We've been letting her wander outside a little each day. She likes the plants and the wind and new sounds! The sunshine warms her fur which I think is comfortable for kittens. She is adorable. But we don't want her to be an outdoor kitten. Too many risks. Plus she might get lost. No, she will remain an indoor kitten. This weekend we had wonderful weather. Dog walking weather. So we really wanted to go buy our German Shepherd puppies! We just need a house with a large yard and me not working first! Sigh again.
Alright. Maybe time for a quick nap before nannying.
