The church search is officially back on! I'd like to find a church closer to home. Of course, if we stay in Lynchburg long term then we probably won't be living in the same area anyways. Oh well. I'm just sick of driving driving driving to get to church. So we'll see what I come up with. I'd like to find a Sunday school class to be part of.
Today I was very domestic. I made my own version of shepherds pie for dinner. I think it was a success. Matthew previously didn't like shepherds pie in any form, but he wolfed down a rather large portion tonight. It was pretty tasty. I usually switch up basic recipes since Matthew and I are slightly picky eaters. So that was dinner. Then I baked a delicious strawberry cake. Yum. I decided today that I like to cook and bake and work in the kitchen! In our next home we will have a very nice kitchen and hopefully a separate dining area. Just one of the pre-requisites to our second home.
The voyage on the Pequod is officially underweigh. I kind of imagine Queequeg as looking like nightcrawler in X-men. Blue and tattooed and all. I think it will take me awhile to get through this one though. I once read a book about whaling in Nantucket, one of the most boring I ever read. But it was required for some high school English class. I associate it on the biography of that heating and cooling guy in Grand Rapids who was in the war. Most of the required reading in high school I enjoyed... But definitely not those two. Anyways, Moby Dick promises to be a multiple weekly reader. Oh well, I'm pretty well into it. It's getting more interesting. I had forgotten pretty much everything. That's the good thing about growing up. You forget everything you learned prior to college, and some things from college even!
Well, I remembered today that I am the lead teacher in our class for most of this week! Tomorrow Carol will be there to get the week rolling, and then it's my turn for the rest of the week! I'm excited about it. Good practice for next year hopefully. I would love to have my own class next year. Any age. Just keep praying!
Matthew and I have decided we eat out entirely too much. We eat out at least once a week, but usually three or more times. Too much. Thankfully we have the monetary means to enjoy this luxury, but we decided it is a great waste of money. We plan to only eat out once a month except for special occasions (anniversaries, birthdays, guests) and we'll put the money we would have used on dining out to put into savings or for gym memberships or something else productive. I think it's a great decision and hopefully we'll start eating healthier and bulk up our savings!
I really want to redo our bedroom and the spare room. Maybe for our anniversary we'll buy new bedroom furniture and create an official guest room. I've been trying to decide what we should do for our one year anniversary present wise. We could skip presents and just focus on the amazing year we just had, but presents are always fun! We'll see. I know we would both love a king sized bed. We have a full now... That's right. Thankfully we're both small people so we fit nicely in our itty bitty bed. But lots of extra space would be nice. Especially since I like to wiggle and sleep diagonally, no joke. So that's a very good possibility. I know exactly what bedroom set I'd want too.
Well, I'm going to finish my episode of Gilmore Girls and then get ready for bed. I keep going to bed earlier and earlier. I just love being married! I love sleeping enough and not feeling like I miss out if I don't stay up until 3 am.
Happy second week of March!
