Well, my man Johnny didn't win the Presidency. Too bad, I really think he would have a made a great Pres. I doubt he'll run in 2012. I'm not too broken up about it though. I think America was ready for the step it took by electing the first Black President. Congratulations Mr. Obama, soon to be Mr. President Obama.

Big news in the life of the Iveson... well, mainly in the life of Becca Iveson, but a little with Matt too.

Story number one: I just realized that my best friend and I seem to skip the little details of our lives when we talk. We of course mention all the big news in our regular phone conversations, but a lot of little details slip by unnoticed. Like the fact that my parents have officially moved and are settled and my cat, whom she loved, is no longer with us. Sad. It was quite the day of text messaging when I told her Moe didn't live with my parents anymore. My sister took him at first, then they say he went to live on a special cat farm for older cats who shouldn't be put to sleep but can't live with their previous owners anymore. I'm not sure if I believe them or not. But I would hope my sister would have more heart than to put Moses to sleep. He was one of the best cats ever. So much personality.

Story number two: One of the other closest friends in the world... is moving. Far away. God has closed several doors for her and opened one new one. She is being called to go out into the world. She knows not where yet, she knows not for how long. She's thinking a project for 2 years and she's definitely going over seas. It breaks my heart a little. I am so happy for her and am so thankful she is being obedient to the call of the Lord on her heart, but she'll be gone. And I won't be able to see her. Depending on where she ends up I might not be able to have regular contact with her either. Hopefully she'll have internet access wherever she ends up. Then we can email and facebook at least. Hopefully she'll keep a blog also to update everyone Stateside. I might try to convince her to get Skype too. I don't yet have need for Skype, but this would definitely qualify as a good reason.

Story number three: My third closest friend in the world (my three bridesmaids, of course) is now in a relationship! It was big news. I am beyond excited for her. I have yet to meet this new man in her life, but from what I can tell, he seems like a great guy. I am excited for this new season in her life. Also, she leaves tomorrow for Africa to pick up her three new Ethipian siblings! This has been a long journey and it is finally coming to a close. Well, really it's only just beginning. I am so excited for their whole family. I cannot wait for them to visit Liberty so I can meet them. Lots of joy will be shared in the next week.

Story number four: Matthew tricked me. We made a deal. His part was to ask our landlord if we could get a bunny. I've really wanted one. He came back downstairs after talking with them and said we couldn't get a bunny. He hadn't even asked. He convinced them to let us get a kitten instead! Yay! So next week we're going to start looking for the newest most precious member of our family! So excited. We might end up with a cat... but hopefully we'll be able to find a little kitten.

So excited. What a week of news. And now for a wonderful, relaxing weekend. And my parents are coming for a visit next week. So happy.

Oh, and it's Matthew and my 5 months anniversary of marriage today! I know, it's kind of silly to count all the months, but I think everyone does that for the first year! Any honestly, usually I'll forget about it until around this time of day! Then suddenly I'll notice the date and think, "Hey! It's our anniversary!" Which is weird if you know me. When we were dating I always remembered our monthly anniversary... yes, all three years worth! So we are almost at the 6 months marker. Happy. It has gone by so fast! It seems like just last week I was still at home waiting for Matt to fly home. Finishing up the last minute wedding preparations! It's gone by so quickly. Hopefully this is a good sign. The next 2 years will go by quickly, we'll have a nice townhouse then, and hopefully a special little baby bump! Our future is so bright and beautiful! So much to look forward to. But I'm just looking forward to the weekend with my husband for now.

Much love.
