Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights.
Habakkuk 3:17-19
Joy. My heart's desire. I suppose I'm not truly much of a joyful person. And that is why I fail.
The Joy of the Lord is my strength. The Joy of the Lord is my strength. The Joy of the Lord is my strength. The joy of the Lord is my strength.
Preschoolers can tell you that. They sing about it on Sunday mornings. Such an easy tune with such a huge meaning. I must've missed that when I was a child.
I want to have faith like a child. I want to allow God to lead me blindly. I want to trust Him simply because He says so. I want to know that He is my loving Father and He would never lead me astray or lead me into harm.
The fruit of the Spirit. Love... JOY... Peace. I wonder why those three are first?
Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of a great JOY that will be for ALL the people.
Luke 2:10
What was that news? The blessed news that was a JOY for all people? Jesus Christ. And I know Him personally. Again, why do I fret?
