Told you I would settle down. And it's even better than I expected.

So Matt thought he had found the "perfect" computer replacement on this website he regularly orders from. It was, of course, and upgrade to his current model and excellent for hard core gaming. Woo hoo. But it was going to cost closer to 600$ just for the box and hardware and that didn't include everything. So we went to best buy to see if there was a pre built model he preferred. There was an "ok" one that was closer to 650$ so we were about to leave to order the other model. He spots a sale on graphics cards- which is one of two things that could possibly be wrong with his current computer. We purchase it for around 150$. Couldn't hurt to try, right? We get home. He pugs everything in. Still doesn't work. Bummer, dude. He decides to unhook everything on the inside to see what all he might need to order still. Once he rehooks everything he turns it on again just for kicks. Lo and behold... miracle of miracles... it works! Fabulous. And he did get a slight upgrade from his old graphics card. What a pleasant surprise. But of course, now we'll just have to see if it will crash and burn again in a couple days or weeks. Hopefully it will at least last until his birthday. Then we can get him a new case at least. Apparently his wires are getting old or something? I don't know anything about building computers, which is what he did. He bought all the parts separately originally and he and a friend put it all together. Risky, but he gets it exactly how he wants that way. So fingers crossed it'll keep working for a good long while and we won't have to wrestle with our non-existent budget. I like to think we have a budget though. We just don't have it all written down.

I also got some Coldstone ice cream out of the deal. Today I got Sweet Cream with Graham Crackers bits. Delicious. I haven't had Coldstone since... I think my freshman year at Liberty! And Matt confessed that he hadn't ever been there! A crime! To think, I used to go there about four times a week... during cheerleading season... pre game! How in the world did I ever fly or jump or walk for that matter? Strangely enough that was during my skinny skinny stage where food was bad and all I ate was one poptart (yeah, a horrible choice in an of itself) a day. I don't know where my brain went during the last couple years of high school. And I wasn't even all that popular for all the measures I took! Oh well, at least I made one good choice and found the right guy to date. That sure took a lot of stress out of my senior year.

Speaking of food: It's time to get serious about this diet and exercise stuff. I'm so sick of being lazy and looking and feeling the way I do. It's time. I've been reading my Shape magazines from cover to cover lately and feel confident I can do this. I want to get back into the shape I once was and looking and feeling confident enough for our impending trip to California (not yet officially scheduled but we'll go before the end of the year for sure). I've been trying to make healthier choices with my eating habits. Not so much sugar, but not totally depriving myself either. Coldstone ice cream will definitely not be a regular part of my diet. I'm not a big ice cream eater in general, but it's summer in Virginia. Something's got to give. So I've been eating eggs or oatmeal for breakfast. It's nice to be at home and have time to make whatever I want or need for food. I'll have something real light for lunch, like a potato or salad and some piece of fruit. Or cereal, I'm still on my CoCo Krispies kick and those don't have a lot of calories in them. And then for dinner I'll eat a regular portion of whatever I make for Matt and I. Today was leftover Shepherds Pie. I got a good portion of meat and veggies with a large glass of milk. Perfection. Hopefully I'll be able to find some good healthy recipes for the next couple of months while I'm at home and can experiment. One of the advantages of not working I suppose. But I'm still hoping something new pops up. I sent out like 40 resumes in all so hopefully something will bite.

I tried to start a more serious exercise regime today, but I was feeling sick all last night and this morning. I still have a killer headache- verging on migraine. I don't know what the problem is. I started to jumprope this morning and about passed out after four minutes. My head was pounding so hard. I managed to get some crunches in at least. Hopefully I can get a good night's sleep to ward off any more migraines. All the different meds I took didn't do any good. Poodins. But I want to start exercising regularly and when it begins to cool off in the fall maybe I'll start jogging. Hopefully by then we'll have gym memberships so maybe I'll just do the elliptical. I like those a lot better than treadmills.

So there's my story. Oh, and I finally found my Blackberry disc! After over a year of ownership. That's what happens when you move. I had completely given up hope on ever being able to sync my phone to my computer. I started installing everything tonight but don't want to bother trying to figure out how to get a wedding picture from my computer as my phone background. I have all day tomorrow to do that. It's definitely good though. I'm glad I found it.

I'm pretty happy. Matt's pretty happy. It's turned into a good day.

Thank the Lord.
