So much has happened over the past year. 2008 promised to be an amazing year and it definitely did not disappoint!

Instead of making lots of new years resolutions, I'm going to focus on what I am thankful for in the past year.

*Wedding planning with my best friends.
*Having the easiest last semester of college possibly in the history of last semesters.
*Both Matt and I graduating from college with honors.
*Finding the perfect apartment.
*The last month hurrah of bachelorette life.
*The perfect wedding.
*An amazing honeymoon in London, the place where it all began.
*A summer to settle in and get used to our new life and home.
*Perfect just out of college jobs for both of us.
*Enough money for all our expenses all the time.
*The blessings of both our families and their love and support in any way we needed.
*Visits from both families to our new home.
*Watching my best friends fall in love.
*Getting the perfect kitten, Emily.
*Time to read all the books I own and more.
*Matt's promotion at work.
*His whole family coming so we could be together on Christmas.
*Two weeks off from work for Christmas break, for me.
*Matt switching permanently to day shift at the hospital.

There are other little things, and probably a lot more towards the first half of the year that I forgot, but those are the big things that stick out to me right now. This has truly been an amazing year. We have been so blessed in our first seven months of marriage.

I have a lot of little personal goals for the new year for myself, but the biggest one is to find a church for us. We've visited a few churches in the area but nothing has struck us as home quite yet. There are a few I'd like to visit a few more times. I don't think you can truly judge a church on just one visit. I've been working in the Church nursery at the school I work at for the past two months but this Sunday is my last. So hopefully after that I can start researching a few more of the smaller churches in the area. There's always the fall back of Thomas Road, which I'm not completely opposed to. I just would prefer to attend a smaller church. Not super small with just one service and only ten families, but more community sized. We'll see. But hopefully we'll find a home church soon.

Happy New Year everybody!

God Bless.

I forgot to add safety on the job for Matt. Today he suffered his first injury, pretty good considering he's been working on the Adult Mental Health Ward in the hospital for over a year now. A patient got a little too agitated today and ended up throwing part of his lunch tray at Matt. It hit him right on the cheek. I have yet to see the damage, but I am thankful all he suffered was a bad bruise from the encounter. It could have been so much worse. I am so thankful he hasn't suffered any lasting injuries or anything that would send him home. I pray every day that he will be safe and will be able to help the people he is assigned to. Mental Health cases are so often so sad. Which reminds me, I am also thankful for our own mental health. Not something you think about often unless it directly affects your life.
