We're ENGAGED!!!

That's right. Matt proposed to me on Saturday, June 23. It was perfect. And I love him.

My ring is perfect. It's exactly what I wanted. The more I look at it, the more I love it. And the more I love him who gave it to me.

It was nice having Matt's family with us when it happened. That way we could celebrate with someone. It would've been awfully lonely to have gone out to dinner to celebrate just the two of us... but I wouldn't have complained either way.

On Friday we went to the Tigers v. Braves game. I admit, I was pretty sure he was going to propose while we were in Georgia. I was afraid he was going to do it on the big screen at the game. I had always been adamant that I didn't like this form of proposal. So informal and not personal. But as the event came up, I thought it would be kind of cool. And I told him so. You know, everyone would see me and I'd probably be on TV. But when we got there I found myself terrified that the cameras would pan the audience and I would be one of the lucky ones it landed on. I didn't want to be on the big screen for everyone to see. So I definitely didn't want to be proposed to on there and have added attention. Thankfully, Matt didn't do it there. And the Tigers won. Yay.

Saturday Mark, Brittany, Matt, and I went to Six Flags. The day started with a phone call in my and Brittany's room telling us that we were running late. We arrived at the park right on time and took out four of the biggest, most popular rides with hardly any wait time. We literally walked through all of the dividers all the way up to the platforms and just had to wait for a couple of run throughs before it was our turn. That was fun. We went on all the major rides and even some of the "dinky" ones. We had lunch in a cute little diner that was way overpriced. That's the problem with these amusement park places... everything is soooo expensive. Towards the end of our visit we were tired and very very hot and sweaty. Georgia did us good that day. So Matt had the idea that we'd go up in the Sky Ride. The Cable cars that go above the park. Mark an Brittany went in the one before us, then it was our turn. While we were in the air Matt started talking and he had been acting a little funny. He was like, "So, we've been dating for 2 years..." I started to freak out. I was like, "If you're just pretending then that's really mean." Because he's pretended to be proposing a few times in the past. He just took my hands and kept going. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I, of course, said yes! And he gave me my beautiful ring.

I hadn't expected this. Beforehand I had thought he might try to do it at Six Flags, but I didn't notice any bulges in his pockets and I couldn't imagine where he would've kept the ring while we went on all the rides for fear of losing it. He had put it in a secure pocket in his wallet which I had kept in my purse. He had asked to see it periodically throughout the day to check on the ring. Tricky.

Mark and Brittany guessed what Matt was doing and were all ready with a camera when we got out. It was perfect.

The ring I have now is the jewelers display ring until mine comes in. Mine had to be special ordered because of the small size I need. Mrs. Iveson took this ring in to the jeweler in Atlanta Friday night to have a sizing band put on it. So it will stay on my finger until mine comes in. Perfect.

That night we had a big cookie cake that said "Congratulations Becca and Matthew" It was nice. We were with his whole family. It was a perfect weekend.

I love him.
