I used to want to become a journalist. That's all I ever wanted to be. I was told I'd be good at it. I wanted to travel the world. Sounded pretty darn good to me. Started classes last year. Discovered how crooked and dirty the media truly is and decided to switch majors. Yes, I have integrity enough for that.

Been thinking about politics lately. I could be a speech writer if nothing else. But working in the Senate or White House or internationally, how amazing would that be? I know politicians are often crooked and lie through their teeth, but there have to be some honest ones. And if not, I could be the first.

Facebook has taught me a lesson in this. Yes facebook, yet another internet world we all have been sucked into through no fault but our own. For instance, here I sit. There are two girls sitting near me, one on either side. Do I open conversation with them? No. What am I doing? Writing on my blog and talking about facebook. Two other realities I live in. How the internet works it's way into our lives.

But facebook has taught me how crooked and evil politics really is. I scan the newest feature, the elections group. I support Dick Devos, no questions. Easy. I try to find some campaign issues I agree with. See some spots of interest... but all are filled with vile language and corrupt euphemisms and bash after bash against the opposite party. Wouldn't it just be easier to campaign for your candidate's or your issues integrity than to try and unsettle the opponents debate? Dirty dirty and getting dirtier still.

This world needs a few more honest poeple. Then we need those honest people to take office in all shapes and forms. We need to take over the world by storm. A little honesty can go a long way.

I wish I could be a politician and try to settle the wrongs that have been made by candidates past. This of the potential on this planet? Think of the power we hold. And we are so unwilling to use it. We are selfish creatures. And in this way, we relinquish any hope there is of the future.

We need some more honest people. And then those people need to step up and stand firm for what they believe in.

And it starts with me.
